Awarded to Sergeant “Sergeyev Semen Petrovich” born in 1918 with Order of the Patriotic War for the successful completion reconnaissance and subversive missions behind enemy lines at the Leningrad frontline.
This Order is made of solid gold, silver and enamels. Total weight is about 27g without the metal disc. The serial number is located at the 6 o’clock position it reads “48451” and the maker mark Monetni Dvor is located at the 12 o’clock position on the reverse. This is what we find in the Russian military archives about this order:
For 3 months in 1943 sergeant Sergeyev took an active and direct part in the extraction of valuable information about the enemy’s military transfers and location of enemy garrisons and headquarters. Sergeant Sergeyev took a direct part in organizing the collapse of the military echelon of the enemy going to the front line, as a result of which there was an explosion of wagons with ammunition and the railway traffic was interrupted for 12 hours.
Serving in the Red Army since 1941 sergeant Sergeyev was also rewarded with the Order of the Red Banner and other rewards and medals.
The order is a war time produced and is in very good condition with intact enamel works. Some nice age patina to the reverse and the details are crisp as expected on a 1’st class order.
Beutiful order with full research, hard to find a better example!!
