Russian WWII M40 Navy Officers Visor Cap with Extra White Removable Top

M40 visor cap made of black colored wool with a black colored satin central cap band. The visor is made of black colored pressed paper. Black leather chin strap is attached with two brass buttons, one to each side which are pinned in place. The upper edge and upper center of the cap band has White trimmed wool piping. To the front center of the cap is a Heavy, navy officer’s cockade hand sewn in Place with a red star over a Navy anchor. The cockade concists of a golden bullion embroidered wreath with a separate metal badge to the center. 

The cap is lined with black colored fine cotton cloth and shows a rather faint maker and date marking. It reads: 1941 which is the year of manufacturing, “54”, size of the cap as well as a hard to read manufacturers logo. The cap is in well used condition, with storage dust, napwear to highlighted positions and sweat and grease to the inside. The visor has a couple of reinforcement stitches to the central part. Visor stiffener still in Place. Included is the White removable top in perfect matching size. The top has a couple of minor stains. This one has been used but not as much as the black colored top.

Rather scarce cap which has seen quite some action!!
